Christmas Break.

Executive decision: I need a Christmas break.  My tendencies usually are to work almost all of the time and contemplate all I have to do when I'm not working.  I know, I know.  It will probably give me grey hair.  There is so much to do here.  I have until April to get this house done and have 3 cars that have engine problems.  Plus there are a million things I want and need to do in our ministry. . . .

We are taking next week to be with family for Christmas.  I am purposely slowing down to not just enjoy our time, but to refresh myself mentally and spiritually.  I need a clear head and heart to start the new year.

The rest of this month, I am putting together a scope, strategy, and game plan to get this house done.  Starting Jan 3rd, the blitz is on!  That week, I hope to have a huge Lowe's delivery truck drop off everything I need and then it's on!

Join me in slowing down for Christmas and then join me in January.  I could use some help on this house. Experience not necessary (but helpful).

"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."           Philippians 4:6

The trouble with cars

I just checked the oil in our car to find anti-freeze on the dip stick.  Not cool.  That means that I have a blown head gasket.  I guess we are not driving that to Florida for Christmas.  Our other car has the wrong title and the people in Paola who we bought it from won't give me the right one.  Not sure why.  They gave me the wrong title in the first place and say they will get me the right one, but after 4 months...

This doesn't fit in my schedule for the next 3 months, so I'm asking Santa for a new car.

Today the weather will be over 50, so I will be outside putting a head gasket on my little pick-up.

Slowing down?

This time of year, I feel like I'm driving around with the parking brake on. It seems like things don't go as fast as I want them too.

Things like:
-It being more difficult to be working outside when it's cold.
-Me getting a metal shaving in my eye and it taking a while to heal.
-Not getting the right title for Jesse's car.
-Blowing a head gasket on my truck.
-People getting busy with their own holiday activities.

I guess I should just make the best of it. This Saturday, I have half a dozen college students coming to help me on the house. I am hoping to major on getting the house done these next several months so I can spend spring and summer working on my mission.  Got any spare time?

Thanks for your prayers. Nothing good comes easy, right?

Be the Change.
