I posted some pictures from our last day of school party.  I was building to this; a great opportunity to share Jesus with these kids!

Lessons learned?

Working with kids is not often an in-depth Bible study.  It is hard to get them to stop moving long enough to listen.  Yesterday was kind of crazy.  I blame it on the weather.  While helping one student with his bike, another runs in to tell me that a young girl is crying because another hit her.  Instantly, I am surrounded with many versions of the account.  "Who saw what happened?", I ask.  That discredited all but one of my eye-witnesses.  I am still not sure who hit who or if there was any hitting at all.  I pulled the older girl aside and talked about forgiveness, responsibility and made her go apologize to the other.  Reluctantly she did and the crisis was over and the two played together the rest of the day.

Meanwhile, another little fight broke out between 2 boys.  Boys fight rougher.  One punched the other in the face; the other retaliated by scratching him with a screwdriver.  We talked about forgiveness, temper, and anger.  Then I called the mom of the screwdriver attacker.

Meanwhile, some kids were going into the church kitchen, which they are not allowed in.  They were getting cups of drink mix and eating it.  They call it "happy crac".  I call it stupid.  We talked about the fact that it doesn't matter who took it out of the kitchen,  possessing it was still a crime.  Oh.... who knew.

Lesson learned?  Not sure.  More lessons today!
